About Me

 

I have been working in the IT security industry for 25+ years with a strong focus on network and email security and all the surrounding aspects . After working as contractor for 15+ years in many European countries as well as the United States I have decided it is time for some more permanent roles so I can enjoy more time with my family in our beautiful house in Harvard, MA.  I am a proud dad and husband for my beautiful spouse, with a total of 4 kids, 4 cats, 3 dogs and 5 chickens and a large vegetable garden. I love cooking for my family.

Background

​

With an in depth know-how of NIX and Windows operating systems i can troubleshoot more complex performance problems. No matter what I did my key focus was always on messaging.

​

My journey started with DEC All-In-1 mail and IBM Profs/Officevision towards Lotus cc:Mail, Lotus Notes and finally Office365. From complex PKI architectures for financial institutions and SMIME scenarios for Pharma to more challenging SendMail SMTP mail backbones scenarios everything which can be done was done. Everything from a small 20 user systems installation  to a 300 000 user system implementation and migration has  been done . Topics like SPF, DKIM, DMARC and ARC make me feel home, products like Cisco Ironport, Proofpoint, MimeCast, AGARI and others make me feel comfortable and the vendors challenged.

Current Work

​

My current focus is to better integrate more uncommon security tools to improve the  security footprint for our environment. This includes Splunk, Firewall Vulnerability Detection Features, SOAR, threat feeds and many more.
